PRESS: Ministry suggests abolishing lower tax for sugar beverages
MOSCOW, Apr 1 (PRIME) -- The Russian Finance Ministry has suggested increasing the current low rate of 10% of value added tax (VAT) for beverages with high content of sugar including sugar-sweetened juice, Kommersant business daily reported on Monday citing a document sent for consideration to the government.
A representative of the ministry said that the document is an alternative to the Healthcare Ministry’s proposal to impose an additional tax on such beverages.
